The Gorge Tillicum Community Association is a voluntary organization that is recognized by Saanich as the representative voice of our community on local issues. We promote a healthy, vibrant community by addressing issues such as environment and parks, traffic and transportation, land use planning and streetscapes, social wellness and community celebration.
We have good working relationships with Saanich Council and municipal staff, as well as with other community agencies such as Saanich Neighbourhood Place, Pearkes Recreation Centre, Saanich Centennial Library, Saanich Silver Threads, and the Victoria Native Friendship Centre. In addition we also receive the support of local businesses for the Gorge Canada Day Picnic (see Picnic page for details)
The GTCA board of directors meets monthly except summer to direct the business of the association, with other sub committees involved with environment, traffic calming, Picnic planning, parks improvement meeting separately as required. Our Annual General Meeting occurs in the Spring each year and community members are welcome to attend and stand for election to the board. We produce seasonal newsletters during the year and these are delivered to every household in the neighbourhood by volunteer carriers.
The GTCA has established itself as a vibrant, proactive community group in south Saanich. We have achieved a great deal and our strength has been attracting great local people who invest their time, energy and skill to help build our community’s future. We invite you to come and join us.
